Michael G. Tribulas
Born and raised in Atlantic City, N.J., Mike spent his youth on the beaches and boardwalks of South Jersey. First making change in the arcades then driving the tram on the boardwalk--you will never tire of his stories about the diving horses and the great bands that graced the ballroom of the Steel Pier. Legends like Les Paul, the Rollings Stones and Allman Brothers may have precipitated Mike’s love for the guitar which he began to play seriously at the age of fifteen. He traded his Sears bike for his first guitar; never regretting his decision. Graduating from the boardwalk, Mike played in bands such as the Nace Benner Band, Crystal Blues Band and Buzz Band at local hot spots including the Rum Point Pub, Tony Marts and Bayshores.
Mike was working long hours at the telephone company in Philadelphia when his roommate bought him his first camera for Christmas. It had been collecting dust for several months the day the apartment building across the street from his went up in flames. Mike grabbed the camera and started shooting. The first picture he ever took was published in the newspaper and earned him $10.00. Mike began reading every manual and text book he could find on photography and lighting and continued to hone his skills. A naturally creative person, he has an innate ability to envision the shot in his mind and then turn his mental image to reality.
Mike opened his photography studio in the early 80’s and his clientele consisted of centerfold models, comedians, musicians, national beer companies, non-profits, governmental units, real estate entrepreneurs, hospitals and public relations companies to name just a few. The business thrived for 14 years and then an unexpected series of events forced Mike to move in another direction.
After a hiatus, Mike decided to again open his own business. Not just focusing on photography this time but other media as well. By combining all of his talents he can offer a wider range of services to clients while having a great time doing what he loves. His wife Jill, completes the picture with her creative writing skills and background in advertising and marketing.
Jill M. Tribulas
Born and raised in South Jersey, Jill was born with a pen in her hand. For as long as she can remember, she would escape from the everyday world into one of her own making. Long hours of reading and writing helped her survive the periodic struggles that come with a blended family of seven. She will never forget the essay she wrote in fourth grade about the day in the life of a tic tac. Likewise for her fifth grade poem about Joey Coyle and his fateful encounter with an armored truck. Neither are her best literary works but they were both clear indications that words and her ability to use them were going to play a predominant role in her life.
An alumnae of Our Lady of Mercy Academy, Jill received her Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Advertising from Rowan University. She worked in the advertising and marketing world for a few years but nothing seemed to fit. On an impulse, Jill applied and was accepted at Rutger’s School of Law in Camden and four years later she was sworn in as a member of the New Jersey Bar. Jill worked for a firm after she graduated and then an unexpected series of events caused her to launch “The Law Office of Jill M. Tribulas.” Jill quickly realized that her years of crafting words every which way she could would come in handy when attempting to convince a judge to rule in her client’s favor.
A lover of adrenaline, Jill traded sky diving, bungee jumping and white-water rafting for two kids and stand-up comedy. Albeit less dangerous, raising kids and risking moody audiences are invigorating nonetheless. Jill authors a periodic article in the local Bar Association newspaper titled The Justice Complex. She also wrote a series of articles called Cabbie Chronicles based upon the extraordinary adventures of a local cab driver. Jill also heads the publicity department of First United Methodist Church in Collingswood, where she is an active member. Jill is the church photographer as well.
